Ketner Takes Plea Deal, Probation

DODGE City, Kan. — Dodge City pastor Jerrold Wayne Ketner pled guilty to a single count of aggravated sexual battery as part of a plea agreement with the state that dropped six other felony charges, including rape and attempted rape. “Dr. Ketner has accepted responsibility,” Ketner’s attorney Sal Intagliata said, pointing out the number of supporters in the courtroom which he said have helped and will continue to help Ketner meet the conditions of his probation.

Kansas Judicial Council Appoints Sal Intagliata to Serve on Criminal Law Advisory Committee

WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita attorney Sal Intagliata, of Monnat & Spurrier, Chartered, has been appointed to serve on the Kansas Judicial Council Criminal Law Advisory Committee. Intagliata joins fellow lawyers, Judges, law professors and Legislators from across Kansas on the 14-member committee, whose role is to regularly review the Kansas Criminal Code and the Kansas Code of Criminal Procedure.

Sedgwick County Prosecutors Drop Charges Against Detention Deputy

Prosecutors have dismissed charges against a Sedgwick County detention deputy accused of fondling two male inmates. The deputy’s defense attorney, Sal Intagliata said: “James Conklin honorably served his department and his community for almost 20 years… He and his family appreciate the willingness of the District Attorney’s Office to listen and review his case closely and … that office’s decision to dismiss the case. It was the right decision….”

Sal Intagliata Elected Vice President of Wichita Bar Association

Sal Intagliata has been elected Vice President of the Wichita Bar Association for the 2012-2013 term. The WBA has more than 1,300 attorneys and judges as members. Intagliata also sits on the Board of Governors of the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (KACDL) for the 2012-2014 term.

Judge Tosses Confession, Evidence In Murder Case

Sal Intagliata, Holton’s lawyer, asked the judge to suppress the evidence during a hearing last week. Intagliata said that by entering the house without permission, Wichita police violated search and seizure protections under the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
