Supreme Court forms task force to examine pretrial detention practices
Firm shareholder Sal Intagliata has been appointed by Kansas Supreme Court Chief Justice Lawton Nuss to the Kansas Supreme Court ad hoc Pretrial Justice Task Force. The task force consists of 15 selected members, including judges, defense attorneys, and prosecutors, court services and community corrections officers. Its charge over the next 18 months is to examine and report on current pretrial detention and bond practices for those accused and awaiting trial in Kansas district courts and compare the process in Kansas with other jurisdictions for potential improvements and alternatives to incarceration for those awaiting trial.
