Alex Sheppard

Alex brings to Monnat & Spurrier, Chartered a lifetime of competitive experience and the trial experience of working at a prominent personal injury firm where he fought big insurance companies and recovered millions in compensation for injured human beings.

Alex’s zeal for competition, preparation and hard work began at a young age in Great Bend, Kansas where he grew up, worked various jobs and competed in football, track, and swimming. This drive for competition led Alex to accept a swimming scholarship to Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa.

At Morningside University Alex majored in biopsychology, competed on the swim team and participated in numerous on-campus activities. After graduation, Alex had the opportunity to shadow a patent litigator who inspired him to pursue a career in law. Prior to his admission to Washburn University School of Law in January 2016, Alex worked as a laborer for Lyons Salt Company and in sales for AT&T.

While at Washburn, Alex participated in various groups including the Intellectual Property Society and Women’s Legal Forum. Alex learned of his passion for the courtroom while participating in Washburn Law’s intensive trial advocacy program.

Alex’s practice at Monnat & Spurrier focuses on the defense of criminal cases including DUIs, drug offenses and domestic violence. When not tirelessly advocating for the accused, Alex enjoys golfing, playing guitar, and being involved in the Wichita community.
