IntagliataSal Intagliata brings an
impressive background in criminal law to Monnat & Spurrier, Chartered. Both
as a private practitioner representing persons accused of crimes from
January 1996 to October 2005, and as an Assistant District Attorney from
October 2005 until his return to defense work at Monnat & Spurrier,
Chartered, January 04, 2010, Mr. Intagliata’s interest in the law has always
centered on criminal law. In fact, Mr. Intagliata’s first inspiration to
defend persons accused of crime came when as a second-year KU law student,
he defended persons without financial means who were imprisoned for crimes
after having been denied a fair opportunity at vindication by the judicial
system. He received his first victory when the Kansas Court of Appeals
over-turned a felony narcotic’s conviction in State of Kansas v. Terrell F.
Myers, 258 Kan. 51, 899 P.2d 1036 (1995).
While at the Office of the District Attorney,
Mr. Intagliata practiced as a trial attorney in the Gangs and Violent Crimes
Division. While in private practice, and again upon his return, Mr.
Intagliata has focused almost exclusively on representing persons accused of
criminal liability and DUI in federal, state and municipal courts throughout
the state of Kansas, as well as in the federal and state appellate courts.
His experience includes civil rights litigation, representing persons whose
constitutional rights have been violated by government. Mr. Intagliata’s
successes include cases alleging homicide, embezzlement and money
laundering, bank robbery, narcotics distribution/possession, firearms
offenses, sex offenses, battery and driving under the influence of alcohol. |
